A plethora of subjects are covered in detail.   He traces his addiction in his early years and his close relationship with fellow Texan, Oswald Jacoby; playing pro on Charles Goren’s team; his involvement with Ira Corn in the birth of the Dallas Aces and the paths pursued by himself and his teammates after the team (following two world championships) disbanded and went their own ways; personal experiences with George Burns, Omar Sharif and other entertainment luminaries who shared his love for bridge; following Corn as the District 16 Director on the ACBL Board (including many horrifying behind-the-scenes tales which you will not want to miss); the skullduggery of dozens of cheating incidents both home and abroad, including an entire chapter labeled The ‘C’ Word; his experience at the helm of both the ACBL and WBF; his release from the highly-accorded Nickell team with many recollections of the incidents leading up to and accounting for his firing; his contributions to the game regarding appeals and perhaps most importantly, creating the Ethical Oversight Committee intended as a non-political tribunal to handle the most sensitive subjects without confrontations or finger-pointing; developing the Recorder System and creating Active Ethics;  his dedication to the theory of restoring equity – that the innocent be protected and the guilty be punished (regardless of the methods used to accomplish that end);  both sad and exhilarating personal recollections of his personal life including an incredibly tear-jerking tribute to his late wife Debby; his feelings about meting out punishment, weapons of mass destruction, the poison-gas labs, the need for support for America’s youth movement and the realization that without it – bridge will fall by the wayside in the U. S. -- taking its toll on posterity. 

The Lone Wolff concludes with the major obstacles facing bridge today –insufficient funding to support international bridge and the failure in recent years to hold a world championship on our own soil; sponsorship, professionalism, patronage, the structure of the ACBL, the dominance of politics, absence of mandatory self-recusals,  lack of leadership, the disgusting presence of personal agendas and conflicts of interest entrenched in many administrative committees, the ineptness of the appeals process with the need for further training, education and familiarity with procedures –  and much more!!!!!! 

Bobby's Wolff's eleven world championships and the distinction of being the only player to win world titles in five different categories -- dim in comparison to his countless contributions to the hobby and his unyielding pursuit of what is best for the game he holds dear.
